My wife requested a nicho for Christmas, and opened the door for experimentation. With the freedom provided, this piece explored several new features that will likely show up in later work: curved shelves, a new wing pattern, a new color choice, douglas fir back boards, and decorative rabbet joints (replacing the dovetails found on other nichos).
