Reflect 2020
Date: March 2021 - June 2021

Materials: poplar, plywood, milk paint, hard wax oil, metal fasteners
I was selected alongside Belen Islas, Carlos Grasso, and Ksenia McEuen. This free public art exhibition showcased the artists' work created during the COVID pandemic in unused retail window space in Ventura.

My Artist's Statement: In the darkness of a difficult year, I intended to build work that embodied hope and light, and in one case darkness and despair. Surrounded by the bleakness of quarantine and COVID-19, the birds in our yard became symbols of hope and freedom. Flying anywhere on the whim of a breeze, birds and butterflies embody lightness and hope, becoming a central theme throughout my work.
